Families who have lived in the same city or town all their life usually have a good network in the city, they know the officials or politicians who matter.
If the family has been occupying the ancestral property for a long time, without being questioned, they are likely to resent the other heirs if they come to property and demand a share or occupy a small part of the property.
While the main occupant may not directly express their resentment, there are several ways to harass the other heirs when they live in their share of the property.
One preferred way of harassment is spreading fake defamatory rumors , that the heirs are lazy, idle, has no money at all.
In other cases, associates of the main occupant are telling the other heirs indirectly that they should sell their share of the property, when retaining the ancestral property remains important to migrants for sentimental and other reasons.
